Day 1 : Arrival Yangon

You will meet with your guide at the Arrival Hall of Yangon International airport. Transfer to your hotel and check in. (Check in at 14;00 noon and early check in depends on room availability).

Spend your afternoon with a short walk on the wooden bridge to line up along the Kandawgyi Lake, giving you a stunning view on the Shwedagon pagoda, but also on the royal barge, standing at the side of the lake, Karaweik. Continue your visit to Kyauk Hta Gyi Pagoda, famous for its impressive reclining Buddha. End the tour at The Shwedagon pagoda for a unique experience to discover the most venerated religious place of Myanmar. In the evening, enjoy your welcome dinner.

Day 2 : Yangon-On Board

This morning, transfer to the jetty and check in cruise its mooring in Yangon. Enjoy a relaxing breakfast as you start your journey to Bagan.

After lunch, enjoy an introductory lecture about the heritage buildings you are sailing past along the Ayeyarwady River. A welcome cocktail party and introduction of the ship’s officers precedes dinner.

Day 3 : On Board

This morning visit Danuphyu, a historically important town during the Anglo-Burmese War. See the General Maha Bandula memorial at Pali University, followed by a trip to a cheroot maker and local tea shop. You’ll also have a chance to wander the bustling market.

Return to the ship for afternoon tea. Join the guides in the lounge for an introduction to the Myanmar language and enjoy dinner.

Day 4 : On Board

Spend the day relaxing on board as you make your way towards the ancient Myanmar capital of Pyay. Take part in sunrise yoga, indulge with a spa treatment, or unwind beside the outdoor pool.

An astrologer will join you on board for number and palm readings. Astrology is an important aspect of Myanmar culture. Sit in on a fascinating talk about local Buddhism, and join a longyi tying and thanaka paste making demonstration, perhaps wearing your longyi at this evening’s pre-dinner cocktail party.

Day 5 : On Board

Disembark for a visit to the impressive Shwesandaw Pagoda, boasting views across the city. You’ll also get to see the ten-storey Buddha and make an offering to your personal planetary post, learning about the significance of spirit animals.

You’ll also visit the ‘Fabulous City’ of Sri Ksetra. One of three UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Myanmar, Sri Ksetra is famed for its unique, cylindrical stone stupas. Return to ship and spend the rest of the afternoon sailing through the stunning scenery. A talk on Myanmar’s past, present and future will be presented before dinner.

Day 6 : On Board

Relax with a full morning of sailing.

In the late afternoon, disembark to visit the hilltop fort at Gwechaung. Travel through the countryside by ox cart for first-hand experience of the rural lifestyle along the Ayeyarawady River. Savour a stunning dinner of grilled specialties, served under the stars on the Observation Deck or, weather permitting, on a nearby sandbank.

Day 7 : On Board

This morning you will arrive at the trade port of Magwe. Enjoy a tuktuk tour of the busy market and see the famous Myathalon Pagoda. Visit a monastic school, and join the on-board doctor as he donates stationery to local school children.

Return to the ship for lunch. Later there is an invitation to take part in a Lahpet Thoke, or tea leaf salad, competition. Work in teams to make one of the most popular dishes in Myanmar cuisine, with a winner chosen by the ship’s captain.

Day 8 : On Board

This morning disembarks at Salay to view the exquisite 19th-century teak monastery Yout-Saun-Kyaung. Lunch is served as you cruise into Bagan. Disembark for an early evening tour of Ananda Temples, one of the four main temples remaining in Bagan and is considered to be one of the most surviving masterpieces of the Mon architecture. Famous for the finest, largest, best preserved and most revered of the Bagan temples. Continue until the highest Thatbyinnyu Temple and return on board. .

Day 9 : On Board

Balloon Experience Over Bagan – Start your morning with an incredible hot-air balloon flight over Bagan’s temple-studded plains. Start your morning snack on pastries and croissants, and sipping coffee and tea as the balloon is inflated. Climb aboard before gently rising above thousands of gilded stupas and earthen temples all back-dropped by the impressive Ayeyarwady River. A truly unforgettable and unique experience. (Note: available only from late- October to late-March; all flights weather permitting).

After breakfast, take your bicycle and tour to Myinkaba Village and Gubyaukgyi Temple, which is noted for its beautiful mural paintings on its inner walls and well-preserved plaster carvings on its exterior. Visit nearby the Manuha Temple and Nanpaya Temple. Have fun with and enjoy your half day bike tour through the scattered temples.

Afternoon tour of Bagan’s most famous products the lacquer ware and wood crafts workshop are worth to visit and learn more about the local culture. Watch as the skilled craftsmen use techniques passed down through generations to create beautiful items. Enjoy your final evening aboard.

Day 10 : Bagan-Yangon Departure

Disembark after breakfast for your onward flight to Yangon. If time permits, visit the famous Bogyoke Market or Scott market (closed on Mondays and Public Holidays). The complex houses hundreds of small stalls where local people use to buy jewelry, tailor made clothes is a good place to buy numerous souvenir items to be memorials of the visit Myanmar. Have lunch and relax in a beautiful oasis in town. After lunch, transfer to Yangon airport and depart Myanmar.

The water level of river is changing depending on the season. From the months of January to June, the water levels of the Ayeyarwady may drop for a period of a few weeks to a few months, creating a narrower channel for navigation. To accommodate for changes in water levels, the ship may operate on an adjusted itinerary during these periods and the mooring locations may be amended.
